Saints

Search the Bible for saints and one will find,
People of God who did great things,
Who reveal Heaven’s wonders,
Whose actions teach,
Down through long ages.

We find there a liar,
A man consumed with jealousy,
A murderer and a thief.
We find they were adulterers,
Cowards, unfaithful and cheats.
We learn that they worried,
Boasted, argued and ran away.

Yet still God used them.
He took their strengths and weaknesses,
To weave a cosmic plan.
For God in mighty holiness,
Chose to work with flawed man.
